A big non-harassment-y pat on the back to Diedre who won the owl by answering the question: What famous detective passed away this week?  The answer -> Columbo :(

Diedre named her fuzzy guy Percy after her pet goldfish from childhood.  A good choice!

It was a great show at The Fleece!  A BIG thank you to Ash Wilkinson who did our live sound and did a seriously cracking job.  We also had a surprise when a friend from up North dropped in without telling us – thanks for coming out to the gig, Elliot :)

A big ‘congrats-me-babber’ to Gabrielle who won the owl by answering the question: What day of the week was the Apocalypse?  To which the answer was: Saturday.  She’s yet to name her fuzzy winnings, but she did let me know that it’s definitely a girl…

It was an amazing night, peeps!  We shared a stage with Branches and A Genuine Freakshow.  If I had been wearing socks, they would’ve been knocked off.  WOOP!

Our gig on 20th January was picked up by http://www.live-music-scene.co.uk and it’s a down right loverly review!  Even the crochet owl got a mention…

Kicking off the night are the electronically epic and wonderfully folksy Exit Project. After making a slightly nervous start, vocalist Emi Jarvi says a warm hello to the audience and the set starts to pick up. She keeps up these chatty, down to earth addresses to the audience throughout, even finding time for a crochet owl giveaway!?

It’s not that often you see a cello on the stage at the Fleece, yet its low hum adds depth to their sound. Combined with sporadic keyboard tinkling and soft melodies picked from the acoustic guitar the music has a transcendent, other worldly feel, and Jarvi’s soaring vocals top it all off magnificently. It’s clear that the band are having a great time.

The mini big chill gig has come and gone and it was flippin’ good fun.  Not only was there music, there was hat-making, face-painting, home-made-cake-selling and beer-drinking-for-charity.

A good time was had by all!  Thanks to the lovely new fans who stuck around to shoot the shizzle after the show.

We gave away an hand-made-by-Exitproject owl as always!  The winner of the owl was Steve – he named his owl Dave and was kind enough to let me take a pic :)

Our next show is at The Louisiana on 30th September in Bristol.  We’re headlining and we have some surprises in store, so come on down and hang out with us.

The show is in aid of the Sue Ryder Care charity.  We’re performing to help support this charity that supports people with long-term neurological care needs.

It’s going to be an awesome day in honour of a great cause – hope to see you there!

Well, what a freaking fantastic evening…  We played some tunes, had a sound guy that knew what was going on, the promoter was friendly and gave us free beer and noodles, and Robin-the-cellist’s awesome parents were there all the way from Canada to help celebrate.

AWESOME.

We have a drummer!

And just a quick update on the song – we’re actually working on two songs at the same time at the moment.

Why?  Yes, good question.  We wrote a verse and chorus – both of which we liked – but they didn’t work together.  So we kept them both, split them up and we’re working ‘em both up : )

In other exciting news, we’ve started booking some gigs in and around Bristol.  You can see info on the Gigs page.

And there’s also a remix of Daylight - Exitproject (43842) on the horizon, I’ll keep you posted!

Man, there’s been lots going on… I should blog more.
